Welcome to Victoria Falls! We’ll be waiting for you at the airport to take you directly to the stunning Mbano Manor Hotel. Your luxurious stay begins now, and we’re sure you will love every moment of the next two nights here.

    Sundowner Cruise

Start your adventure with a truly magical experience: a sundowner cruise on the iconic Zambezi River. It’s the perfect way to begin your tour, as you settle in and watch the breathtaking sunset with a refreshing drink in hand. As the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow across the water, you will be captivated by the sheer amount of wildlife the river attracts. The Zambezi is a lifeline for animals, drawing them from the often-parched interior to quench their thirst. You’ll glide past large pods of hippo, which are accustomed to the boats, allowing for incredibly close and safe encounters. Keep your eyes peeled for the more sinister-looking crocodiles basking on the banks or silently cruising through the water. It’s also common to spot elephants, giraffe, buffalo, waterbuck, kudu, and impala, along with a splendid variety of exotic birds, making for an unforgettable safari on the water.

    Boma Dinner

Enjoy a truly unforgettable African experience at The Boma, where you will immerse yourself in a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean culture and cuisine. Your evening begins with a four-course meal that is as authentic as it is delicious. The feast includes a choice of mouth-watering starters, a hearty soup cooked over an open campfire, and a substantial barbecue buffet served on traditional cast iron plates. This robust meal allows you to savour a wide variety of local and regional flavours in a lively, communal setting. While you dine, a feast of nightly entertainment unfolds before you. Be captivated by the powerful performances of Amakwezi traditional dancers and singers, be intrigued by the tales of a local storyteller, and be blessed by a traditional healer. The night culminates in a drumming extravaganza, where you are invited to join in and create your own rhythm, making for a truly interactive and memorable grand finale.

  • Day 2 - Victoria Falls Explorer

    Guided Victoria Falls Rainforest Tour

The morning will begin with a nourishing breakfast, and soon after, an experienced guide will arrive to welcome you. Together, you will embark on an unforgettable and intimate walk into the Victoria Falls rainforest, a place the locals revere as Mosi-Oa-Tunya—’The Smoke that Thunders.’ Your guide’s passion for this place is infectious, and they’ll share a wealth of knowledge with you every step of the way. You won’t just witness one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World; you will gain a deeper appreciation for its origins, from the dramatic geological forces that shaped it to the resilient wildlife and profound historical significance that make this a journey of true discovery.

    Village Experience Tour

After a short rest, we will begin our afternoon excursion by taking a drive through Chinotimba, Victoria Falls’ largest and oldest township. This is your chance to get an authentic feel for the bustling urban life of the area. From there, we’ll head about 15 kilometers out of town to the serene rural community of Monde Village. This visit is an opportunity for a truly personal connection. You will be greeted by the local villagers and have the chance to sit down and talk with them, learning firsthand about their culture, customs, and the history that has shaped their lives. They will generously open their homes to you, showing you the layout of their homesteads, the animals they keep, and the traditional equipment they use. You’ll get to see how their rooms are set up and even get a glimpse of the food they eat, making this a genuine and memorable experience that goes far beyond a typical tour.

Afternoon game drive with bush dinner

Get ready for a late afternoon safari that promises to be a departure from the ordinary. Your adventure begins with a drive to the 2500-hectare Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, a true haven for wildlife located only 12 kilometers from town. This reserve is a sanctuary for the iconic Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The animals here are wild and roam freely, carefully protected by our dedicated team of specially-trained rangers, who are vital in their conservation efforts. You will also see a remarkable variety of plains game, from the elegant giraffe and striped zebra to the stately sable and powerful eland. As the day turns to dusk, we will find the perfect spot to stop and enjoy sundowners while the sky transforms into a canvas of oranges and purples—a quintessential African sunset. This is where the experience truly becomes special. Unlike most reserves, our private drive continues into the night, giving you a rare chance to witness the bush after dark. As the stars emerge, the nocturnal world wakes up. Listen for the calls of the wild and look for the eyes of creatures like the majestic lion, secretive leopard, and playful hyena, as well as smaller animals such as night apes, civets, and genets. The evening will conclude on a high note back at our Boma area, where a three-course dinner awaits. The main course is a sumptuous buffet-style barbecue—a traditional ‘braai’—served under the stars. It’s the perfect setting to relax and recount the day’s sightings, with both open-air and covered seating to ensure a perfect end to your safari adventure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any time is magnificent, but the ‘best’ time depends on your preference for water volume and weather:

  • High Water Season (Feb – May/June): The Falls are at their most powerful and magnificent. Expect immense spray (the “Smoke that Thunders”) which can obscure the views from the ground, especially on the Zambian side. Great for scenic helicopter flights.
  • Low Water Season (Aug – Jan): Water flow is significantly lower, especially on the Zambian side which can dry up completely (Oct-Nov). Visibility is best during this time, allowing for clear photos of the rock face and gorge. This is also the best time for high-adrenaline activities like white-water rafting and the famous Devil’s Pool (usually open late Aug-early Jan).
  • Weather: Winter (May – Aug) offers cooler, dry, and mild days (great for safaris). Summer (Sept – Apr) is hot and humid, with the main rainy season from Nov-March.

Comfortable, casual, and practical clothing is best.

  • For the Falls: A rain poncho or jacket is essential for the spray (high water season). Wear clothes that dry quickly. Raincoats are available for hire at the falls.
  • For Safaris/Game Drives: Neutral colours (khaki, brown, olive, grey) are best for blending in. Pack layers, as mornings and evenings can be quite cool, even in summer. A fleece or light jacket is recommended.
  • General: Comfortable walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, swimwear, and good quality sunscreen and insect repellent are essential.

Malaria: The Victoria Falls area is considered a malaria risk area, especially during the warmer, wetter months (Nov-June). Antimalarial tablets are highly recommended. Please consult your doctor or a travel clinic for the most suitable prophylactic (medication) for you.

Yellow Fever: A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is only required if you are arriving from, or have transited for more than 12 hours through, a country with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission. Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana are not on the risk list, so you only need the certificate if you are coming from a listed country.
