Itinerary
Day 1 - The Liquid Labyrinth & The Island Bivouac
Maun to the Okavango Heart
Our expedition commences with a 08:00 AM departure from Maun, heading north to the proximal reaches of the Okavango Delta. Upon arrival at the poling station, you will board a Mokoro; a traditional dugout canoe propelled by a professional community poler. Moving silently through the crystalline channels allows for an intimate connection with the Delta's unique micro-fauna, such as the Painted Reed Frog and the African Jacana.Island Exploration & Primitive Camping
We disembark on a remote island for a guided bush walk, where your guide will interpret the complex hydrology of the Delta and track larger mammals like the Red Lechwe or Sitatunga antelope. Following a secluded picnic lunch under a canopy of water berries, we resume our aquatic journey, navigating deeper into the papyrus-lined veins of the swamp to reach our camping station. Your evening is spent in an authentic wilderness camp, dining by the fire and falling asleep to the nocturnal symphony of the world’s largest inland delta.Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2 - From Water to Land: The Moremi Transition
Morning Mokoro & Transit to Moremi
We rise at dawn for a final, serene mokoro excursion, capturing the golden hour as the Delta’s birdlife becomes vocal. After a hearty bush breakfast, we transition from the water to a rugged 4×4 vehicle for the journey into the Moremi Game Reserve. This area is widely considered the most beautiful sanctuary in Africa, where the Delta meets the Kalahari sands.Afternoon Predator Search
Upon entry, we begin an afternoon game drive through the Mopane tongues and floodplains. Moremi is a stronghold for the Big Five and is particularly famous for its high density of leopards and the rare African wild dog. We track the movement of the resident prides as they emerge from the shade of the fever trees, eventually reaching our mobile camp for a second night under the vast
Botswana stars.Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 - Moremi Unfiltered: A Full-Day Wildlife Masterclass
Today is an intensive exploration of the Moremi ecosystem, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Because we are in a mobile camp, we are already in the heart of the action. We traverse the seasonal floodplains, tracking the migrations of zebras and blue wildebeests, while keeping a keen eye on the acacia thickets for resident lions. Your guide will explain the delicate balance between the
permanent water and the dry land, revealing how the Delta’s pulse dictates the survival of the species here. We enjoy a bush lunch at a scenic location, perhaps overlooking a hippo-filled lagoon, before continuing our search for the more elusive inhabitants like the honey badger or the Pel’s Fishing Owl.Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 4 - The Dawn Patrol & The Return to Maun
Our final morning is dedicated to the Dawn Patrol. This is the most electric window in the bush, as apex predators are often seen finishing their nocturnal patrols or marking their territory before the heat sets in. We scour the edges of the lagoons and the open savannahs for one last high-definition encounter with the Delta’s inhabitants. Following the morning drive, we begin our return transit to Maun. You depart with a profound connection to the Botswana wild, having traversed the liquid arteries of the Okavango and the predator-dense woodlands of Moremi, a true specialist’s passage through the heart of the wild.
