    Prepare to be captivated by a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Our expert local guides will lead you through the lush rainforest, a unique ecosystem sustained by the perpetual spray from the falls, known locally as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’—’The Smoke That Thunders.’ As you follow the well-maintained paths, you’ll feel the cool mist on your face and hear the thunderous roar of the Zambezi River cascading into the gorge. Your guide will take you to 16 key vantage points, each offering a distinct and breathtaking perspective of the falls, from the Devil’s Cataract to the Main Falls and beyond. From there it’s about 15 km out of town to the rural Monde Village, where you get to meet the local inhabitants, go through introductions and talk about their culture, customs, history and daily lives. You will be shown how their homestead is set up, the animals that they keep, what sort of equipment and utensils they use, the way their rooms are set up, the kind of food they eat, and so much more.

    The Boma Dinner and Drum show

    Enjoy an unforgettable African experience infused with Zimbabwean cuisine at The Boma that offers a four-course meal combining a mouth-watering choice of starters from the kitchen, soup from the campfire and a substantial barbecue buffet served on cast iron plates. Frequently Asked Questions

For travellers from many nationalities (classified as Category B), visas can be conveniently purchased upon arrival at the port of entry, such as the airport or border crossing, though cash in USD is required for payment. Single or double-entry options are available depending on your itinerary.

Certain travellers visiting both Zimbabwe and Zambia qualify for the KAZA Uni-Visa (currently US$50 and available to citizens of over 65 countries), which is highly recommended as it grants access to both nations for up to 30 days with multiple entries, and even permits day trips to Botswana (but not overnight stays);

In contrast, some nationalities (Category C) are required to apply for an eVisa or process their visa through an embassy in advance.

Any time is magnificent, but the ‘best’ time depends on your preference for water volume and weather:

  • High Water Season (Feb – May/June): The Falls are at their most powerful and magnificent. Expect immense spray (the “Smoke that Thunders”) which can obscure the views from the ground, especially on the Zambian side. Great for scenic helicopter flights.
  • Low Water Season (Aug – Jan): Water flow is significantly lower, especially on the Zambian side which can dry up completely (Oct-Nov). Visibility is best during this time, allowing for clear photos of the rock face and gorge. This is also the best time for high-adrenaline activities like white-water rafting and the famous Devil’s Pool (usually open late Aug-early Jan).
  • Weather: Winter (May – Aug) offers cooler, dry, and mild days (great for safaris). Summer (Sept – Apr) is hot and humid, with the main rainy season from Nov-March.

Comfortable, casual, and practical clothing is best.

  • For the Falls: A rain poncho or jacket is essential for the spray (high water season). Wear clothes that dry quickly. Raincoats are available for hire at the falls.
  • For Safaris/Game Drives: Neutral colours (khaki, brown, olive, grey) are best for blending in. Pack layers, as mornings and evenings can be quite cool, even in summer. A fleece or light jacket is recommended.
  • General: Comfortable walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, swimwear, and good quality sunscreen and insect repellent are essential.

The US Dollar (USD) is the dominant and most widely accepted currency.

Zimbabwe: Prices for tourists are usually quoted in USD. Have small denominations ($1s, $5s, $10s) for tips and local markets. The local currency (ZWL) is less useful for tourists. Credit/Debit Cards (Mastercard/Visa) are widely accepted at major hotels and activity operators.

Botswana (Chobe): The local currency is the Pula (BWP), but USD is widely accepted for tourism.

Note: Inform your bank of your travel dates and destinations to avoid card freezes.
